New Advisory Committees
The City Council has established several new advisory committees to encourage community involvement and provide valuable input on important city initiatives and projects.
We are now accepting applications from residents interested in serving on these committees. This is a great opportunity to contribute your knowledge, experience, and ideas to help shape the future of Madisonville.
Application Deadline: September 10, 2026
Committee descriptions, eligibility requirements, and the application form are available below. All residents of Madison County are encourage to apply! Applications can be submitted via email to april.theiss@ci.madisonville.tx.us, or submitted in person or via mail to City Hall.

Parks and Beautification Committee
The Parks and Beautification Committee serves in an advisory capacity to the City Council by providing recommendations on matters relating to the development, improvement, and enhancement of City of Madisonville parks, green spaces, landscaping, beautification projects, and sports fields. The committee promotes community involvement and helps identify opportunities to improve the quality, attractiveness, and enjoyment of public spaces for residents and visitors.
The initial members of the Parks and Beautification Committee shall develop and adopt bylaws to establish the committee's organization, meeting procedures, officer positions, and operating guidelines, subject to applicable city policies and ordinances.
Requirements:
- 18 years old
- Reside in Madison County (Committee can have 2 county residents, not all have to reside in city limits)
- Must not have been convicted of a felony or misdemeanor of moral turpitude
Streets and Traffic Safety Committee
The Streets and Traffic Safety Committee serves as an advisory role to the City Council by reviewing matters relating to street conditions, traffic flow, pedestrian safety, signage, parking, and transportation concerns. This committee provides recommendations to council aimed at improving accessibility, mobility for residents, businesses, and visitors, and roadway safety while helping to identify and prioritize the community's transportation needs.
The initial members of the Streets and Traffic Safety Committee shall develop and adopt bylaws to establish the committee's organization, meeting procedures, officer positions, and operating guidelines, subject to applicable city policies and ordinances.

Home and Business Facade Improvement Committee
The Home and Business Facade Improvement Committee serves as an advisory role to the City Council by promoting the enhancement and preservation of residential and commercial property exteriors throughout the community. The committee encourages beautification efforts and provides recommendations to support attractive, safe, and well-maintained properties that contribute to community pride, economic development, and neighborhood vitality. The committee will be responsible for choosing winners of Yard of The Month and Business Facade of the Month that will be presented at monthly council meetings.
The initial members of the Home & Business Facade Improvement Committee shall develop and adopt bylaws to establish the committee's organization, meeting procedures, officer positions, and operating guidelines, subject to applicable city policies and ordinances.
