The City of Madisonville's Youth Council was officially established in July 2026 by City Council. Applications are now open for the 2026-2027 school year, which will be the first Youth Council! This is a great opportunity for youth to develop leadership skills, engage in civic activities, and contribute to the future of the community. Deadline to apply for the 2026-2027 school year is September 10, 2026.
Goals for the Youth Council this year:
- Establish bylaws for the Youth Council
- Learn about local government
- Share ideas for the community with City Council
- Complete community service projects
- Schedule and conduct a fundraiser towards scholarships for Youth Council Members.
Requirements for Youth Council:
- Must reside in the Madisonville CISD school district
- Be a Junior or Senior in High School enrolled in Madisonville CISD, completing a homeschool program, or enrolled in a private school.
- No prior criminal convictions
How to apply:
Must submit an application and at least one letter of recommendation. Please complete the application below and email the application and letter(s) of recommendation to:

You can also complete an application and submit the application and letter(s) of recommendation in person at City Hall.
